What is arguably the biggest event in High River goes this weekend with the annual River City Classics Burn Out and Show and Shine.

Thousands will hit the streets of High River to take in the classic car show.

But it comes with it's fair share of detours and street closures.

It starts Saturday, September 22, from 3 to 8 p.m., with Centre Street closed down between 7th and 12th Avenues for the Burn Out event.

Also Saturday, the Town will close down a good chunk of downtown streets starting at 6 o'clock, as they get ready for the influx of vehicles early Sunday morning.

Cars will be displayed in George Lane Park, and along Centre Street from 9th Avenue to 4th Avenue.

1st Street from 7th Avenue to Macleod Trail S.W., as well as 6th, 5th, 4th and 3rd Avenues S.W., and Macleod Trail S.W. from 1st Street to 5th Avenue S.W.

Those roads will stay closed until the car show winds up around 5 o'clock Sunday, September 23.
