Rowan House Emergency Shelter has seen overwhelming community support for their monthly donation request program.

Ally Cramm, Community Relations Coordinator for Rowan House, says they are asking for towels and basic bath linens for the month of August.

"We have 24 women and children that come through the shelter at any given time, and they need to have baths and take showers, so we tend to go through a lot of these items," she said.

Cramm says they are also looking for noodles this month.

"Noodles seem to be really popular with the children. We're running a little low, and have decided that we could ask for those, as well, at this time," she said.

As always, the shelter is in need of laundry pods and basic hygiene supplies like shampoos, conditioners and body soap.

The Okotoks Food Bank has also made a generous offer to lend a helping hand.

"We had an offer from the Okotoks Food Bank to come and pick some of the produce out of their community garden. It's just such an amazing thing to see that organizations can work together like that, and we appreciate that very much," said Cramm.
