As the month of September begins, Rowan House Emergency Shelter has reached out asking for your assistance.

Ally Cramm, Community Relations Coordinator for Rowan House, says most donation requests come from inventory of supplies that are running low.

"September through until about December when we start to get a lot of the stuff through our Wish Book Campaign, we start to run low on shampoo and conditioner," she said.

Cramm says some items most consider essentials can be a luxury for others.

"Conditioner is actually more of a luxury. There have been many times where our residents have to make due without it. That's not always ideal, but, unfortunately, that is the situation, unless it's something we can get donated," she said.

In addition to shampoo and conditioner, Rowan House is also requesting rice and quinoa donations this month.

If you're interested in donating items to Rowan House, you can contact them through their Facebook page or by calling the shelter directly at 403-652-3316.
