Monthly donation requests from Rowan House have been put on hold as the holiday season gets underway with their Annual Wishbook Campaign.

Community Relations Coordinator for Rowan House, Ally Cramm, says the initiative helps with the demand in the holiday season and heading into the new year.

"As you can imagine, Christmas is a difficult time for families in shelter. So, instead of asking for our monthly donation, we encourage people to go to our website and look at our Holiday Wishbook Campaign. There are a number of different items to help provide a merry Christmas for anyone in shelter or outreach, as well as getting us ready for the first half of 2019," she said.

Cramm says they never know who will be in the shelter for Christmas, and the Wishbook Campaign helps with flexibility to ensure shelter residents are able to enjoy the holiday, regardless of their circumstance at the time.

"Things change really rapidly here. We don't know who's going to be in shelter from day to day, so it's always helpful to have some flexibility in us being able to buy for who is here at the time," she said.

Rowan House will still be accepting donations throughout the months of November and December, but residents wanting to donate are encouraged to view the Wishbook to ensure a happy holiday for those in need.
