The Salvation Army's annual Christmas Toy Drive is in high gear.

Lieutenant Kelly Fifield says they're aware a lot of people are going through tough times and need some help.

"It's been a rough year, a rough couple of years, and so we're not out to give you an extravgant Christmas but we're out to make sure that every kid has a toy unbder their tree to open on Christmas morning," she says. "As much as we believe that Christmas isn't all about the gifts, we understand that that's a large part, family and coming together and doing that is a huge part of Chistmas so we want to support our community in that way."

New, unwrapped toys can be dropped off Monday December 5 at the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex between 1 and 7 p-m and the toys will be sorted next week.
