Over 24 hours has passed since the Amber Alert was issued for Taliyah Leigh Marsman.

Police continue to look for the 5 year old girl from Calgary, who's mother was found deceased in her apartment on Monday, July 11.

Taliyah is described by police as mixed-race, with a slim build, and having curly brown hair and blue eyes.

Insp. Don Coleman said in a press conference on Tuesday, July 12, that they believe Marsman is still in Alberta.

"The Amber Alert is provincial in nature, so we're looking provincially. There is nothing to suggest that Taliyah is outside of Calgary but we are not ruling out any possibilities, including that she may be in the care of somebody right now and been dropped off, and that person or those people do not know what has transpired."

Coleman said that they have spoken with family members, including Marsman's estranged father Colin Marsman, who is currently cooperating with the investigation.

The police are aware of reported and unreported domestic violence between Colin and Taliyah's mother Sara Baillie.

Baillie's family also spoke at the press conference, pleading for Marsman's return.

"Please return her," said Scott Hamilton, Baillie's uncle. "Drop her off at an RCMP station, Calgary Police Service Station, or grocery store, gas station, wherever you want. Contact the family, we will come pick her up; there will be no questions asked."

Anyone with information is asked to call the Amber Alert hotline at (403) 53- AMBER (2-6237) or the Calgary police at (403)-266-1236.
