High River's Salvation Army got a nice surprise recently, with a $2,000 donation from Seasons Retirement Communities.

While Seasons usually donates food during the Christmas season, they decided to donate during the summer this time around, as donations run thin this time of year.

Fun manager for Seasons Retirement Communities in High River, Deb Thompson, says "They've made a corporate decision to donate $40,000 to local food banks across Canada, with 9 of those being in Alberta."

This is all part of an effort to fight hunger.
