There has been an update to the Evansburg animal abuse investigation, as the second suspect involved in the case has turned himself in.

50 year old Ross Andrew Atkinson from Parkland County is facing 60 counts of permitting or causing unnecessary suffering to 65 horses and six dogs on a rural property in Parkland County, West of Edmonton.

Another suspect, 48 year old Patricia Lynn Moore was charged with three counts of permitting, or causing, unnecessary pain, suffering or injury to animals.

Atkinson has been released from custody following a bail hearing, and will appear in the evansburg provincial court on January 14.

The RCMP and SPCA say they are not soliciting for donations or living accommodations for the animals, and the affected animals are currently being treated.
