You could see the smoke and hear the engines revving for miles around Saturday night.

The River City Classics Burnout went without a hitch.

One of the organizers, Roger Hamill says it was the first time they tried it.

"We decided since our car show is 14 years old we needed to do something to just up our game a little bit and we organized this even and the attendance was incredible," Hamill says.

Sixty cars registered to take part and Hamill estimates a thousand to 1,500 people lined the street to take it in.

He says the whole event Sunday is the largest one-day car show in western Canada.
