You can add R.J. Sigurdson's name into the growing list of candidates for the UCP nomination in Highwood.

Sigurdson, the former President of the Highwood PC Riding Association says his inspiration for political life was a familiar one, in Ralph Klein.

"I graduated high school around the time Ralph Klein came to power. He balanced the budget and we saw such unlimited prosperity in Alberta and I just want to be able to help lead Alberta back to that to give my children and all Albertans' those opportunities."

Sigurdson says having so many people in the race is "exciting for Conservatives" in the Highwood Riding.

Sigurdson will square off against Dean Leask, Carrie Fischer and sitting MLA Wayne Anderson in the nomination race.
