The UCP'S candidate for Highwood heading into the next election, R.J. Sigurdson, isn't letting controversy stop him as he gears up for the coming spring election.

Sitting MLA Wayne Anderson has filed a complaint with Elections Alberta over how the nomination process unfolded, but Sigurdson says as far as he's concerned what's done is done.

"You know when it comes to this, I just want to say, the party has done all of their due diligence. They have completely confirmed the decision of the members. You know they stand behind me 100 per cent as the Candidate in Highwood."

Sigurdson says if there is an investigation going on, he doesn't know about it.

"I've talked to the party about this, they say they haven't been contacted. Nor are they aware of any investigation in the Highwood (riding). And I haven't been personally contacted myself. So I'm not aware of any investigation."

Sigurdson says he's ready to go when the writ gets dropped.
