High River Mayor Craig Snodgrass talked about a few of the things the town is working on at the Chamber lunch meeting on Thursday, February 22nd.

Snodgrass says he enjoys getting out and talking to people about what is going on.

"The Chamber meetings are fun for me to come to," said Snodgrass. "They just kind-of want to know what are you doing, what you are working on and what's going on with council discussions."

A few of the topics he touched on included the 4.1 per cent tax increase, fiber optics Internet, infrastructure and the southwest berm.

"They never have a lot of questions but they just appreciate that we're here and telling them what is going on."

Snodgrass would have liked to talk more about the plans for the next four years, but they are in the middle of working on the strategic plan right now.

"Because we are only a quarter of our way through our strat planning it is tough for me to really announce and say where we are because haven't got there yet. A lot of that communications will come out once we are done and the plan is in place."

Manager of Economic Development Jodi Dawson was the speaker at the last lunch meeting and she talked about growth in the town.

"Jodi did a great job and answered a lot of questions on the business end of things and my job was to kind-of incorporate everything that  council works on."

One of the requests made to Snodgrass was the Town should have done a better job preparing the community for the tax increase.
