Talk to anyone from High River and mention all the construction downtown again this Summer and you'll likely be greeted with an eye roll and a sigh.

Mayor Craig Snodgrass has been getting an earful on all the construction and it's inconvenience, almost since the day he took office, so you'll have to believe him when he says, he feels your pain.

"You know, downtown High River, traffic wise it's just a 'gong show' right now, there's just no other way. It just is what it is and we've got to get through and get this done. I think people will look back at it and go 'man that happened fast.' And in another five or 10 years nobody will even remember what it was like before and the pain that we went through to get here."

Snodgrass says the new Provincial Building has contributed to it's fair share of traffic troubles, but it's a massive project which Snodgrass says will be nothing but a boon for downtown once it's done and full of workers.

He says at this time next year downtown High River will be "a pretty awesome place to hang out."
