While the best of the best in the curling world will call Okotoks and the Pason Centennial Arena home for the next few days it's not just fans of sport that are excited.

Committee Chair for the event Marg Cox says the six plus days of curling and extra curricular activities will showcase what the Town has to offer.

"Thrilled beyond thrilled it is just the most wonderful experience, everybody is charged, we're going to do our utmost to make sure this is the best experience everyone has had to come to Okotoks and see the elite of elite curling it's going to be spectacular," she says.

Cox says local businesses will be busier than usual this week.

"Our business folks should really see a big increase of people coming into their stores and buying products, particularly gas, groceries, hotels & motels and souvenirs things of that nature. It creates a lot of interest and generates a lot of money coming around the community."

The action got underway Tuesday night.
