The MD of Foothills continues to work hard to get approval for a new water and waste water treatment facility in Aldersyde.

Mayor Larry Spilak says it's something they've been working on very hard for a long time.

"We have done a great deal of lobbying. And the license portion as well as the facilities themselves, we feel we're just on the cusp of getting it. We thought we had it in August, and we had to backtrack with the Province. But we're now back on schedule and I understand there's a meeting in the next couple of days, where we could see some really good news. But, we've got our fingers crossed. It's a huge one for us."

Spilak says if they get approval they can move ahead with plans to even further develop their industrial corridor along Highway 2A and Highway 7.
