Fitness enthusiasts will get pedaling on Sunday for the Fourth Annual Motion Fitness Okotoks Spinathon.

The event, which raises funds for the Ride to Conquer Cancer, has participants on bikes for four hours straight outside the facility.

Maggie Bowen, Senior Trainer at Motion Fitness, says it's a very rewarding event.

"The first year I did the ride I actually did it in memory of my uncle who I lost which helped me come to terms with the process of the pain he was going through and come to terms with a little bit of the loss," she says. "It never makes it better but it helps you deal with it, then I saw how other people were using this as more of a bonding ship of getting through."

Last year the event raised around $2,500 dollars, and this year Bowen says shed is hoping to double that.

"For myself to do a ride I have to come up with $2,500," she says, "the main goal is $2,500, our stretch goal will be $5,000."

Cost to participate per person is $75 or $40 per person in a team.

Prizes will be handed out for best costume, best decorated bike, and for the most insane team.

The Spinathon takes place Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
