With a full moon expected Friday it'll create the perfect atmosphere for an evening of spooky stories.

The Okotoks Museum and Archives is offering its popular fall season hit ghost tours. The event will take out three tour groups of 15 people in each.

The tour travels around two to three blocks of town and offers residents insight to some of Okotoks haunting history.

Kathy Coutts, organizer and tour guide, says they decided to try something new.

"We've always done it in October, we've done it for four years, and it's been very successful so Candice is the one who suggested let's do one in the summer."

Candice Sutton, co-organizer and tour guide, says the tours present an entertaining learning opportunity.

"You get to learn a little bit about the history of the town and I think people are surprised about the rich history that Okotoks has and some of the stories and characters we have around town."

Sutton adds that while there's nothing to go bump in the night or jump out and grab people, she says she recommends the tour for people who are 13 years of age and older.

The first tour starts at 9:30 p.m. and each one lasts approximately one hour and 15 minutes.

Cost of each ticket is $5 plus GST.
