Looks like spring cleaning has started early in High River.

Manager of Operational Services for the Town, Eugene Lund, says there's no time like the present.

"The warm weather that we're having has allowed us to get a head start on street cleaning for 2016."

He says the town is coming in under budget on snow removal this year thanks to the balmy temperatures.

"The plan after the main streets are swept is to branch out to residential areas is to continue with the street sweeping. We haven't given up on lowing and sanding either, our equipment is still available to be used if winter returns."

He says he doesn't have specific numbers but says the Town has come in under budget for snow removal so far.

"The roads that have been done in the downtown core generally hit them early in the morning when there isn't any people parking there yet. When we do move over to the residential areas we will be putting up no parking signs ahead of time so people are aware."

He says the Town manages clean up with one street cleaner and will occasionally hire an additional one if necessary.
