Your first day of advanced voting begins this weekend.

The polls will open at noon in numerous locations throughout the Foothills riding.

Spokesperson for Elections Canada Leanne Nyirfa says the polls go all the way to Sunday.

She also adds that you'll need some ID with your official address and having a voter registration card or information wouldn't hurt you getting in and out of the stations quickly and efficiently.

"You should bring your identification with you because you need to prove your identity and address before you can vote," she says. "So that can be either one piece of government issued ID with your photo name and address so for example our drivers license, you can show two other pieces of ID these could be two different pieces that have your name on it and one must have your address."

If you live in rural areas having your legal land description handy is always a plus.

Nyirfa says if you don't any regular ID and are from the Foothills riding you can still vote, it might just take you a little bit longer.

"If you don't have any identification at all is you can take an oath," she says. "You need to show two pieces of ID with your name on it, and have someone who knows you come with you to the poll, they must be registered in the same electoral division as you are and meet the ID requirements and they can attest to where you're from."
