Students and teachers in the Foothills are showing they're standing up against bullying.

Wednesday marks Pink Shirt Day which aims to create awareness of bullying through wearing pink shirts and speaking about the issue.

"We have our TAC program which is our teacher advisory where we have students work directly with grade specific students and they stay with those students throughout the year in their three years at the school and they were work in developing relationships," he says. "Those teachers that work with their TAC class follow the students throughout it and provide supports whether it's academic or social/emotional, or any of the pieces they need."

Mason says students at FCHS show a great amount of support for the anti-bullying efforts.

"Walk around the school and you'll see a variety of student groups in support of it. You'll see some jerseys from different teams, both school and community teams, a variety of student groups, student council as well, not just recognizing the day but more importantly they're supporting it throughout the year."

As part of the national Pink Shirt Day campaign, people who are wearing pink are encouraged to post their photos using the hashtag #pinkitforward.
