Parents looking to get their kids into swimming lessons at the Rec-Plex in High River can start signing them up Tuesday.

The Town's Parks and Recreation Manager Guy Latour says they missed a few weeks thanks to a "perfect storm of staff issues."

"At the end of June with quite a few of our casual staff not being available. So, we had to put a postponement on it, and cancel swimming lessons for a little bit. The HR (Human Resources) Deparment went above and beyond and put all their resources into it. So, in a very short time, were were able to recruit, hire and train and put in place some additional staff to make sure we get swimming lessons."

Latour says getting the kids signed up is easy.

"If you have an account with our 'Activenet Program' already you can go on line. Or you can do it in person (At the Rec-Plex), we have additional staff, especially today in anticipation of everybody wanting to get registered. And then the phone number is (403)652-4042."

Latour says they'll have a couple of sessions for sure, and try very hard to squeeze in a third session right before school starts if they can.

The first session kicks off Monday, July 25.
