Another busy year for Turner Valley's Municipal Enforcement Officers with overall calls for service climbing by 33 per cent.

However Municipal Enforcement Supervisor Trevor Bowman says there were some significant drops, particularly in 24 hour suspensions which were cut in half in 2016.

"It's nice to see that 24 hour suspensions were down, which is always a great bonus for us here."

Bowman says overall the number of speeding violations were down 23 per cent in 2016 as well.

"People hopefully are getting the message. We've really ramped up enforcement in certain, targeted areas. And we're hoping our presence is leading to those results."

However document violations were up a whopping 78 per cent, but Bowman says that's likely because the Province stopped sending out reminder notices to drivers for things like registration and driver's license renewal.
