High River and District Health Care Executive Director Michael Brown with the Bel Air Sport Coupe

Saturday is going to be a big night for the High River and District Health Care Foundation.

Not only is it their annual fundraising gala, but they'll also draw the winner of the raffle for a 1956 Bel Air automobile.

Cathy Couey with the Foundation says they've gotten close to selling out.

"We, over this past weekend, we broke $90,000 in ticket sales," she says. "We always knew it would do well and it was such a unique gift and gave us such and opportunity to do so many things, to get us out to so many incredible community events we'd never been to."

Former Mayor, and current town councillor, Emile Blokland donated the car with proceeds from the raffle going to the Cancer Care Close To Home campaign for renovations and expansion of the hospital's Cancer Care Centre.

The remaining tickets are available at the Rainbow Esso or at the Foundation office at the High River Hospital until 4 p.m. Friday.
