High River Author and Illustrator Karon Argue sees the good in the world even though she's blind.

She says her new book is a reflection of sorts of her and the people who helped her through some very difficult times.

"On Saturday February 13 I'm having a book launch at A River Ran Through It Cafe for 'The Smooch.' It's from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. and I'd love for people to come and meet me."

She says she lost her sight in 2010 and had a kidney transplant in June 2015 but says all of this has been a good experience for her.

Argue says she'll have colouring books and calendars available on Saturday with all proceeds going to the Kidney Foundation and the CNIB.

She says she hopes "The Smooch" will find its way to your special someone this weekend for Valentines Day.

"The book is about a little frog and his friends. It's a story about him being down in the dumps and his friends see that and they  want to do what they can to help him."

She says she remains very positive under the circumstances.

"I can't say that any of this is bad, it's actually very good. I've got a lot of good friends and family that are very supportive. Its not hard, you just do things a little bit slower."
