Community Vitality Advisory Committee Secretary, Gillian Cropper, says the funding application perfectly fit their mandate.

"It's something we felt as committee members totally stood for what we are about, and that's improving the vitality of High River."

Committee member, Elena Kerns, joined Cropper in making the presentation to Council.

"The picnic series increases the diversity of arts and culture events and performances," Kerns says. "The Venue is creating a location suitable for a variety of performances."

The Venue summer picnic series is a free event, which will be hosted every weekend through July and August.
