Just a few days left to get your tickets to the Okotoks Firefighters Ball, which goes Saturday night.

Committee member Sharon Forbes says ticket sales are a little slow, so they're hoping for some last-minute buys.

"We would love to sell some more tickets," she says. "We would sure like to sell 400, and we're at about 250 now, so we would love to sell tickets right up to, probably Thursday."

Forbes says the ball is a way to get to know some members of the Firefighters Association, and help out two charities at the same time.

"It's a great way to come out and meet the firefighters, get a little bit dressed up, have lots of fun, and support two really excellent causes," she says. "We're supporting two charities this year, the Alberta Firefighters Burn Camp for Kids, and also the Cancer Care Close To Home Campaign, which runs out of the High River Hospital."

Forbes says not only will there be a prime rib dinner, a live and silent auction, and a live band, but also a chance at a once-in-a-lifetime trip.

"We're very excited that the kind folks at Pacesetter travel have donated an Alaskan cruise for two," she says. "It's value is almost $4,100 and tickets are only being sold at the ball. So, someone attending the ball is going to walking away with a fantastic prize."

Tickets are $75 each and can be purchased at Fire Station #1 on Milligan Drive in Okotoks until Thursday.
