"Light up George Lane Park" is back again this year in High River and organizers have added a town wide contest to make it even more fun.

People can decorate their homes or businesses or even one of ten trees up for grabs in Rotary Park, all in hopes of winning up to $250 in prizes.

"Light Up George Lane Park" and Santa Claus Parade Committee Chair Ted Dawson says registration is free.

"The idea is to register for it and then folks can go around and have a look and then go back to the Town Website and they can vote for their favourites. And then thanks to AM 1140 and Sun Country 99.7, we'll make the announcement and there's actually cash prizes to be won.

You need to have all your lights up and registered by November 28th.

The winners will be announced on December 20th.
