If you're thinking about getting a float into this year's High River Santa Claus Parade, now's the time.

Event Chairman, Ted Dawson, says they've now opened up the registrations.

He says it just makes it a lot easier if people register early with the logistics of putting on such a large, nighttime parade.

"We like to get the entries in early. If we have a number of entries that have music for example, we like to try and spread them out around the parade. Rather than having all the entries with music together and then all of a sudden we've got some entries that don't have any music."

Dawson says they're also swapping out all their old incandescent light bulbs for the "Light Up George Lane Park" event for LED's, which will save them a bunch of money on power this year.

The 32nd Annual Santa Claus Parade runs Friday, December 7 with "Light Up George Lane Park" going at 5 o'clock and then the parade starting at 6:30 p.m.
