Earlier this month, Our High River hosted a two day Community Summit to showcase tools they're rolling out this year.

Jody Seeley with Our High River, says on Friday, January 12, they focused on social profit agencies, local businesses, and the community.

"We did some training in the morning on how to administer the new Our High River app, so that social profits will be able to put up their volunteer opportunities for citizens to connect with."

She says, they also did a C-Harmony discussion at the event.

"That was sort of connecting people together with different skill sets. So instead of social profits only approaching business for say a donation for something, we learned different skill sets that we have so we can connect and help each other out via skills, as well as other areas."

Seeley said they also got feedback from people on the vital signs report, and how to improve the report for 2018.

Saturday was a day focused on the community, and she adds, they had a smaller crowd.

"But sometimes small groups work well in connecting and rolling out big things. We had a great core group that sort of was there to be the ambassadors and the influencers in the tools that we launch this year that we'll be rolling out into the community."

If you missed the summit, Seeley says, not to worry, as they will continue to do training on the new our high river app and other tools this year.
