According to Environment Canada, a storm-spotter has reported a tornado Northeast of Langdon.

There haven't been any other reports since, but the possibility of a storm producing a tornado remains.

A tornado warning has been issued for the following areas: Wheatland County near Strathmore, Lyalta and Carseland, Dalroy and Dalemead, Wheatland County near Standard and Gleichen, Wheatland County near Rockyford and Rosebud, Wheatland County near Hussar, and Wheatland County near Hwys 569 and 848.

In the event of a tornado, Environment Canada recommends the following:

Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. If you hear a roaring sound or see a funnel cloud, swirling debris near the ground, flying debris, or any threatening weather approaching, take shelter immediately.

Go indoors to a room on the lowest floor, away from outside walls and windows, such as a basement, bathroom, stairwell or interior closet. Leave mobile homes, vehicles, tents, trailers and other temporary or free-standing shelter, and move to a strong building if you can. As a last resort, lie in a low spot and protect your head from flying debris.

A severe thunderstorm warning is also in effect for the area, with the possibility of damaging winds, large hail, and locally intense rainfall.

We will continue to update the situation when more information becomes available.
