One of High River's biggest sewage lift stations is getting an upgrade.

The Town's Operations Manager Eugene Lund, says they're building a bypass station in front of the existing Riley Street Station.

"What that will allow us to do is take the main lift station off-line for maintenance and repairs when we need to do that. And that is something that we've never had the ability to do at that facility before."

He says they're also putting in some things like a grit removal system, some variable frequency drives on the existing pump and dealing with some structural repairs and other upgrades that have needed to be done since the 2013 flood.
