History buffs are welcome to come out and give their feedback on the future use of the Town Farm in High River.

Vice Chair of the Heritage Advisory Committee, Don Barr says they're holding an open house Saturday May 27, to get input.

"We are looking for suggestions, there will be a survey there at the open house for people to fill out, otherwise online at the town of High River web site," he says. "We're looking, I guess for creative ideas for re-use of the farm house, it is High River's only sandstone, the only sandstone building that's still standing, it dates back to 1896."

He says it's sat unused for many years although the outside is still in good shape. He's not sure about the inside but the heat has been connected so it wouldn't be damaged in the colder weather.

It is a registered Municipal Historic Resource, and how much the Town would be willing to put into it would depend on how extensive the work might be.

The open house goes from 12 to 3 p.m. at the Town Farm behind the outdoor rink in McLaughlin Meadows.
