Town of High River Utility bills are being cancelled because of a mistake in calculating water use.

The town says a computer system error on the most recent cycle of utility billing means cancelling the July-August utility bills in order to correct them and then send them out again.

Officials say a calculation error has been discovered with the change to new automated water meters that are being installed in all homes and businesses in the town.

Water estimates on some customers bills may be higher than normal.

The bills will be recalculated and redistributed before the end of September with a new due date of October 31st.
