A truck caught fire around 12:45 p.m. Thursday June 28 on Highway 2, in the northbound lanes near the Mazeppa turnoff.

M.D. of Foothills Fire Inspector Cody Zebedee says no one was injured.

"All the occupants were out and safe, and accounted for so no injuries were reported, so thats good."

The Investigation is ongoing, but Zebedee says it looks like a problem with the truck is to blame.

"It's likely the fire was mechanical in nature, so we're going to be starting the investigation right away."

Both the Okotoks Fire Department and the M.D. of Foothills Fire Departmet were dispatched to the incident.

The fire was put out around 1 o'clock.
