Turner Valley Mayor Kelly Tuck should be in for a fight in next month's municipal elections.

She's finding herself under fire from the Turner Valley Ratepayers Board, who claim under her leadership taxes are too high, and residents aren't getting enough bang for their tax dollars.

Tuck says that's not the case.

"I can stand on saying, we've kept taxes down. And tried to keep them at the very, very lowest, between one and two percent. And I'm sure other communities haven't been able to do that."

Tuck says they increased the municipal portion of taxes by one percent this year, but covered it with reserves.

She says the provincial portion of residents tax bills may have gone up, but that's out of Council's hands.
