The Town of Turner Valley is celebrating the New Year with an evening of activities.

The annual Family New Year's Eve Party will include free horse-drawn wagon rides, face painting, dancing, cookie decorating and s'mores.

Fireworks will also be set off at 8:00 p.m. weather permitting.

The party starts at 5:00 p.m. and runs until 8:00 p.m. at the Flare n' Derrick Community Hall Dec. 31.

In Okotoks, weather permitting there will also be fireworks at 7:00 p.m. from Lineham Park.

There's also an indoor free Kids New Year's Eve Party at the Rec Centre from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

 

Meanwhile, if you had plans to travel to Calgary for the outdoor event at Olympic Plaza, it's been cancelled however the indoor event for kids is still on at the municipal atrium from 7 to 9 p.m.
