As a portable school room is in the finishing stages of being added to Turner Valley school the province has approved one for a total of two.

Drew Chipman, assistant superintendent of corporate services with Foothills School Division says it has an occupancy rate of 95 percent.

"Another great announcement," said Chipman. "They have recognized the need in Turner Valley for another modular. One is currently being put in place."

FSD will be working with the province and the Town of Turner Valley to get the second modular installed as soon as possible.

"Currently they are using the stage in the gym as a classroom. That will allow them to use a classroom and have that space available for other work. It is really due to the growth in the school. That school is at around 95 percent capacity."

Chipman says this will give the school a little bit more room for break-out space.

"It will make it that much easier for students and staff to operate."

The school division will be tendering out the project as soon as possible.
