The Town of High River is celebrating Canada's 150th birthday in a unique way.

Parks Supervisor Tannis Webb says they're busy in the lead up to Canada Day readying the Town to say "Happy Birthday Canada," in flowers.

"I know that programming is doing their big celebration on that day at Emerson Lake and as well as in George Lane Park. But as far as Parks, our contribution this year is to do all red and white flowers all through Town and especially in our downtown core."

Webb says they're filling their 100 planters and 65 hanging baskets with petunia's, and other flowers all in the red and white colour scheme.
