It took a little while, about an extra week in fact, for the Town of Vulcan to attract enough people to run for Town Council in this year's civic election.
Vulcan Chamber of Commerce President Danyel Fath says it's not often they have a "shortage" of candidates.
"This is the first time in recent memory that this has actually happened in town. Typically we always have an election, there's always enough candidates. This year was just a "one off" for some reason."
Those seven people will hit the debate floor Wednesday, October 4, as the Vulcan Chamber hosts their council forum starting at 7 o'clock at the CRC.
Those running for Council are:
Lorna Armstrong- Incumbent
Paul Taylor- Incumbent
Georgia-Lee Debolt- Incumbent
Michelle Roddy
Laura Thomas
Maureen Howard
Lyle Magnuson
Vulcan Mayor Tom Grant will be back for another four year term as he ran unopposed and was acclaimed.
