It's not cheap to send kids back to school each fall.

Linda Holmes with Western Financial Group says they've partnered with the Parent Link Centre by donating supplies for distribution.

"We've been doing it as a staff and we decided it might be a good idea to just put it out to the community that if they would like to donate anything, we would be happy to be a drop off location," Holmes says. "We're going to be collecting until Friday August 18, and at that time we'll be taking the supplies over to the Parent Link Centre so that if they do have any families that approach them that might need a little help they'll have some supplies that they can provide them with."

They're looking for everything from pens, pencil crayons and binders to lunch kits and water bottles.

"For those who have kids in school, if you look at your own child's list and you buy two of something, we'd be happy to take one off your hands and help somebody with it," she says.

There's a tree in the reception area of their office where you can see what types of things that are needed but Holmes says they're not fussy, they'll take anything people want to pass along.

If you'd like to donate, take the items to Western Financial's office at 313 -1 Street Southwest before 5 p.m. Friday August 18.
