The Kenow wildfire has made its way into Waterton Lakes National Park.

Parks Canada says they're also assisting with the evacuation of properties adjacent to the park.

The fire is now firmly established in the Cameron Valley along the Akamina Parkway.

There is also fire in the Tamarack Basin which is expected to grow and move into the Blakiston Valley and towards the Red Rock Parkway.

Firefighters have moved equipment into the town site including high volume pump and sprinkler systems around the perimeter of town.

Highways 5 and 6 are now closed at the boundaries of Waterton Lakes National Park.

There has also been issued a mandatory evacuation order for the M.D. of Pincher Creek No. 9 and the County of Cardston has declared a state of emergency.
