If you were planning on heading south Thursday, December 13, 2018 RCMP are saying "Don't."

High winds are causing all kinds of problems south and west of High River and RCMP from Nanton to Claresholm to the Crowsnest Pass aren't recommending travel.

This is especially true for large light vehicles, RV's and trailers and empty tractor trailers.

In fact, they've closed Highway 22 south of Chain Lakes while they deal with a semi trailer blocking the road.

They say they're dealing with more than one blown over vehicle Thursday.

Winds of up to 130 km/hr in some places are expected to last for the rest of Wednesday and into Thursday, December 14.
