Good Shepherd School was broken into Tuesday morning.

At around 3:00 a.m. RCMP where called out to the school after a youth triggered the alarm system by breaking a window into the school.

Okotoks RCMP Sgt. Sukh Randhawa says the youth involved was after one thing and one thing only.

"We got a phone call in regards to an alarm going off at the school, members responded they arrested a youth who broke into the school and stole some money from the safe."

Authorities were able to respond quickly to the call and prevent the youth from getting away with the money catching him inside the premises.

There was some minor damage to the window that was used to enter the school along with damage to the security cage where the safe was located.

The youth is facing one count of Break and Enter and is awaiting his court appearance and suffered minor injuries.

The identity of the youth cannot be provided due to the Youth Justice Act.
