Foothills County residents could be a getting a bit of a break from the County if they need it over the next few months as they deal with the fall-out of COVID-19.

Reeve Suzanne Oel says they're going to waive a couple late fee's for those who may have lost their job or had a sudden change in income.

"As of Wednesday, March 25, we made the decision to remove late penalties of two per cent on utility payments and the six per cent on property taxes due on Wednesday, September 30."

Oel says they've also closed their offices in High River as a way to protect staff and the public.

She says most of their staff are working from home and can still conduct business over the telephone or through email.
