Proof of full vaccination will be soon be required to get into Okotoks recreation facilities.

Both the rec centre and the Pason Centennial Arenas are operating under the provincial Restrictions Exemption Program (REP).

As of Oct. 26, proof of full vaccination will be required to enter these spaces.

Anyone 18 and older will have to show personal ID and provide one of the following:

- Proof of vaccination required
       - partial vaccination (one dose) accepted until Oct. 25
       - full vaccination (two doses) required after Oct. 25 (14 days from second dose)
- Proof of a privately-paid negative PCR or rapid test within 72 hours of service (tests from AHS or Alberta Precision Laboratories not allowed)
- Documentation of a medical exemption

There are some important things to remember about providing proof of negative test results:

- Test result should be a written or printed copy that indicates the individual has tested negative for COVID-19 on a Health Canada approved rapid antigen, rapid PCR, or lab based PCR test approved by Health Canada or the lab accreditation body of jurisdiction
- Test should also indicate the date and time of the test
- Test must not be from the Alberta Health Services public COVID-19 testing system
- Photos of a rapid test or result taken offsite are not sufficient
- Self-tests completed offsite or self-produced documentation of a negative test result are not valid
- Do not bring completed self-tests or rapid tests to businesses due to communicable disease risk

As of Nov. 15, the only valid proof of vaccination accepted for places in Alberta operating under the REP will be the provincial vaccine record with the QR code.

Mandatory masking and physical distancing continue to be required in all indoor public places, including all town facilities and on transit.
