The Government of Alberta has revealed the most province's popular baby names of 2023.
The top boys' and girls' names were both longstanding favourites adding to multi-year streaks.
Olivia was the number one girl's name for the 11th consecutive year, the longest run in the number one spot on record. Alberta welcomed 210 new Olivia's in 2023.
Amelia took second place with 145 after a steady climb up the ranks over the last four years.
Another historical favourite, Emily, cracked the top 10 for the first time in two years. Emily had a five-year run in the number one spot from 1998-2002.
Violet re-emerged into the top 10 for the first time in at least 40 years.
Taking the top spot for boys' names with 276 total was Noah, for the fifth year in a row.
The 10 most popular boys' names for 2023 were the same as 2022's top 10, though the order changed for some.
Liam was the runner-up, just like the year prior.
In total, 2023 saw 47,263 births registered in Alberta.
