Feedback Deadline for OHS Recommendations is Fast Approaching

OHS recommendations outlining how Provincial legislation could apply to farms and ranches are open to feedback until January 15.

Alberta's minister of Agriculture, Oneil Carlier, says everyone has the opportunity to provide their input in order to ensure the recommendations as good as possible.

Carlier says, the Minster of Labour has yet to set a date of when we can expect to see legislation after the public provides their feedback.

Flax Council of Canada Announces Closure

The Flax Council of Canada has announced that it will be closing its doors.

The organization's office located in Winnipeg will be closed effective January 31.

The Council will continue to operate on a reduced service basis.

In a news release, the group stated that it became apparent that the formation of a combined oilseed council would not happen, which would result in a significant loss of funding to the Council.

 

35th Anniversary of the Western Canadian Crop Production Show

"Growing with You" is the theme for the 35th Anniversary of the Western Canadian Crop Production Show.

The annual event opened yesterday at Prairieland park in Saskatoon.

Agriculture Manager, Lori Cates, says this year's trade show and exhibit space is sold out once again, and features everything from seed to crop inputs, farm equipment and marketing information.

The show runs until Thursday.
