The top eight teams are in Black Diamond this weekend for the 2A Girls Provincial High School Basketball Championships.

The host team, the Oilfields Drillers go into the tourney as the seventh seed.

Games begin bright and early at 8:30 in the morning Thursday March 17 with the Drillers taking to the court at 11 a.m. when they take on Central High.

Other teams in the tournament are: Calgary Christian, Immanuel Christian, Glenmary School, Edmonton Christian, W.R. Meyers (Taber), Three Hills School, Ecole St. Joseph, Assumption Jr./Sr. High and Central High.

Games go all day Thursday and Friday with playoffs set for Saturday at the Oilfields gym.

The finals go Saturday night at 7:00 p.m.
