The wait over whom is going to come out on top in the Banff-Kananaskis riding is over.

The advance polls have been counted and UCP candidate Miranda Rosin has come out on top with 10,815 votes compared to NDP candidate Cam Westhead with 8,889 votes.

The Banff-Kananaskis riding was one of the most contested ridings in the province, and the NDP's only chance at winning a rural riding.

The unofficial voter turnout has also been released, 1,880,508 votes were cast of the 2,643,453 registered electors which means 71.1% of registered Albertans voted.
