The Town of Okotoks has a walking tour coming up this Saturday night, March 22, to recognize Earth Hour from 8:30 till 9:30 p.m.

Join Kathy Coutts from the Okotoks Museum and Archives as well as a conservation educators from the Sustainability team for a one hour tour of historic downtown Okotoks.  You'll learn not only the history of Okotoks, but you'll also learn about some of the current environmental initiatives in town.

It's free to attend, just show up at the Okotoks Museum at 49 North Railway Street at 8:30 p.m. for the tour.

The town also invites everyone to turn off any non-essential lights during the hour which the town says would save 13,440 kW/h of electricity. It's enough power for 18 homes for a month.  It also takes 7.5 tonnes of emissions from being released into the atmosphere.
